Cookie Policy

A short, plain-language explanation of how habitlume uses cookies and similar technologies.

Last updated: May 27, 2026

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files placed on your device by websites you visit. They help sites remember you, keep you signed in, and understand how the site is used. We also use similar technologies such as localStorage where appropriate.

2. Why We Use Them

We use cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, protect your account, remember your preferences, and help us understand how the service is used so we can improve it.

3. Types of Cookies We Use

Strictly necessary

These cookies and tokens are required for habitlume to function. They keep your authentication session active, secure form submissions, and protect against fraud. The Service cannot be provided without them. They are always active and cannot be disabled.

Analytics

We may use privacy-respecting, anonymized analytics to understand how habitlume is used so we can improve it. If deployed, these analytics do not identify individual users and do not follow you across sites.

What we do not use

habitlume does not use advertising cookies, retargeting pixels, or third-party trackers for behavioral advertising. We do not run advertising on the site and do not share cookie data with ad networks.

4. First-Party and Third-Party Cookies

Most cookies we set are first-party, meaning they are set directly by habitlume. Authentication-related tokens are first-party but issued in coordination with our auth provider to keep your session secure. When you make a purchase, our PCI DSS Level 1 certified payment processor may set cookies on its checkout pages for security and fraud prevention. These are controlled by the processor and governed by the processor's own privacy and cookie policies.

5. Managing Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings > Privacy and security > Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and website data
  • Firefox: Preferences > Privacy & Security > Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings > Cookies and site permissions > Manage and delete cookies

Note that disabling or deleting strictly necessary cookies will sign you out of habitlume and may prevent the Service from working correctly.

6. Do Not Track

We do not currently respond to Do Not Track signals because there is no industry consensus on how to do so.

7. Consent Banner

Because habitlume uses only strictly necessary cookies for authentication and security, we do not display a cookie consent banner.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice in the app or on the site. Continued use of habitlume after changes means you accept the updated policy. You can also review our Privacy Policy.
